Mike Skeen Puts the Hawk Performance Audi R8 on Podium at the World Challenge Toronto Grand-Prix!

TORONTO, Canada – Mike Skeen finished both Rounds 9 & 10 of the Pirelli World Challenge series at the Toronto Grand-Prix in the Top 5, taking the Hawk Performance Audi R8 to the podium in 3rd place in Round 10. Skeen qualified 4th for the first race of the weekend and finished in that same position. However, Skeen's fastest race lap put him on pole for the second race. After a shortened race Sunday due to Saturday's rain & IRL schedule changes, Skeen finished in 3rd position and once again had the fastest race lap.

Rounds 9 & 10 from Toronto airs on NBC Sports Network Sunday, August 10th  at 1:30 p.m. EST

Mike Skeen & the CRP Racing team conquer Pikes Peak in their debut run...

"It's the Wild West out here" pretty much sums what racing at Pikes Peak is like....
You can show up with just about anything, built the way you want it, making the power you want and as long as it passes the safety requirements you can race. This past weekend there was everything from million dollar+ electric powered race car efforts from Mitsubishi to a virtually stock Ford Mustang to crazy open wheel cars built in a single car garage. While the purpose built stuff is cool, what people really love at this race are the production based cars no matter how wild or mild.
The Hawk Performance GTR had to the most popular production based car on the hill. Sure it looks amazing but what was most impressive was the performance of the GTR, right out of the trailer the car with Mike Skeen was fast, really fast! It was odd to see legends of the race and their crew members climbing all over the car, taking notes and making comments. full story con't...

Mike Skeen Sweeps the Weekend in Pirelli World Challenge Rounds 7 & 8 at Road America, Elkhart Lake, WI

ELKHART LAKE, Wis. – Mike Skeen, of Charlotte, N.C., and Nic Jonsson, of Buford, Ga., completed GT and GTS weekend sweeps at Road America with wins in Round 8 of the Pirelli World Challenge season, the Cadillac Grand Prix at Road America. Meanwhile Marcelo Hahn, of Sao Paulo, Brazil, took his class-leading third win of the year in GT-A.Saturday’s Round 8 was interrupted by a mid-race yellow flag that spanned from Laps 5 to 11, after both Alex Figge, of Denver, Col., in the No. 9 K-PAX Racing McLaren 12C GT3 and Anthony Lazzaro, of Atlanta, Ga., in the No. 61 R. Ferri Motorsports Ferrari 458 Italia GT3 suffered heavy contact exiting Turn 1 at the Turn 2 slight right-handed. The McLaren had substantial damage and the Ferrari less so; both drivers got out of their cars under their own power, and were checked and released after observation.

What that meant was that the race was basically two separate sprints of five and six laps on either side of the caution. Skeen started from pole in the No. 2 Hawk Performance Audi R8 Ultra but Johnny O’Connell, of Flowery Branch, Ga., in the No. 3 Cadillac Racing Cadillac CTS-V.R got ahead of him on the start. O’Connell then held the lead through the caution until Lap 11.

Skeen then made the winning move on the restart lap, Lap 12, with a pass to O’Connell’s inside at the 90-degree left-hander Turn 5. The win was Skeen’s second straight Cadillac CTS-V Move of the Race award-winner, after his pass on the other Cadillac of Andy Pilgrim during Friday’s Round 7 netted him his first win of the season. full story con't
